Visit to the mud pots
The mud pots are just a few miles from the slabs. The ground water reacts with limestone creating carbon dioxide that causes the water and mud to bubble. The magma underneath speeds up this reaction.

No news
Hey there peoples. We haven't posted much because we haven't even been at the slabs much. We have had Roy's kids for the last couple weeks so we are renting a trailer in town. Need the power and A/C for the kiddos. We did stop by the Desert Monkey the other day. There were storms here and some of our shade was knocked down. We thought we were gonna wait till it cooled of some to start fixing the place up but it looks like we are gonna need to get busy as soon the youngins go home at the end of the month. We have been doing art still. Here are some pics of our stuff. The kid's work too.

Hey There
We have had a busy week. This is the first chance we have had to update the blog. We have visited the Grand Canyon and we got some pics at East Jesus (in the slabs) too. We camped a night in Prescott and stayed a night in Laughlin. Gotta love the cheap rooms during the week.

The Opening of the Desert Monkey
Just a quick update
We are working on our new place a little every day. We have a lot of trash to haul out still but it is coming along. We have a flag pole with a light at the top to mark the entrance to our place. It will go up as soon as the paint on our new flag dries. We just got a king size mattress and box springs yesterday so it is nice to be off the air mattress. We also paid next to nothing for it and our bedding fits it well enough to not have to buy more. Been doing some art the last few days as well. Having a good time. If you are ever near slab city stop by the Desert Monkey and visit a spell. We will post a video soon!

First Visitor at Our New Home
We had guests over on Wednesday but they didn't come by choice. Got the car stuck in loose sand. Oops. Thanks for stopping by anyway Andrew, Grace, and Syd!
Had two other guys with trucks from Slab City try it and just couldn't get him out. The tow truck got them out with no problem.
We made them do some art to repay us for the use of our shade and water. A good deal all around I think.
Andrew, Grace, and Syd.
I don't think he left the hat on purpose.
Finally Moved
We had our trailer moved to the spot we wanted this past Monday (Jun 25th). We still have some cleaning up to do around the space but we are getting things set up how we want them a little every day. We also had 100 gallons of water delivered the same day so we are pretty well set. We are eating good and have plenty of shade now. No A/C but the shade is nice. It has been 110 degrees the last couple of days; just a little warm.
The new spot.
Hitched up and ready to go.
Here comes the trailer.
Home sweet home.
New steps.
100 gallons of H2O.

Survived first Week (and then some)
We have been at the Slabs for 9 days now. Since our last post our canopy was knocked over by the wind so we had to move. We now have a trailer and a spot to put it on with some shade. Still waiting for the spot to be cleaned up and the trailer to be moved where we want it but we are living in it now. We just received some loaner solar panels today and hope to have them set up soon. We have met some interesting people and made some new friends. Here are some new pics of the place.
